CCLS offers a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic where clients may receive assistance, including representation when appropriate, in controversies with the IRS or state tax authority regarding income tax issues.
Controversies may include issues such as tax refunds, child tax credit, earned income credit, innocent spouse relief, injured spouse claims, audits and examinations, failure to file returns, deficiency notices, liens and levies, offers in compromise, employment status, etc.
CCLS also provides outreach and community educations presentations to person for whom English is a second language. Our presentations cover a variety of tax-related topics services as listed above. Presentations are scheduled at various times throughout the year at locations in Fresno, Kings, Mariposa, Merced, Tulare, and Tuolumne counties.
